Editorial and Content Review Policy
Quality assurance
Wilson Banwell Human Solutions makes decisions about the information that appears on our site free of outside influence.
In some cases, our own health professionals and subject matter experts author the information following generally accepted clinical practice guidelines, evidence-based practices, and scholarly research. These health professionals and subject matter experts have undergone formal training in a health care field, hold a provincial or state license in a health care field (where applicable), and have professional experience in providing direct client care.
In other cases, we provide content from government agencies or trusted health sources (e.g. National Institute of Mental Health or the Canadian Medical Association). In these cases, we cannot edit the content but we review it for accuracy.
In all cases, the information contained on our web site is credible and is reviewed a minimum of twice yearly.
Third party review
We subscribe to the Health on the Net guidelines (www.hon.ch) and receive yearly independent reviews of our compliance by this governing body. The principles of code of conduct of Health on the Net are:
- Authoritative. The qualifications of authors are indicated.
- Complementarity. Web site information supports, but does not replace, the health professional-client relationship.
- Privacy. The privacy and confidentiality of personal data is protected.
- Attribution. The sources of all published information is cited.
- Justifiability. The website backs up claims relating to benefits and performance.
- Transparency. Contact information is clearly presented and sources of content are identified.
- Financial disclosure. Any third-party funding sources are disclosed.
- Advertising policy. A clear advertising policy is presented.
