About the course
Quitting smoking takes more than willpower. We know what it takes to become a successful ex-smoker and we’ve put that knowledge together in our smoking cessation program. In this course you’ll learn the keys to a good quit-smoking plan, including:
- being fully committed to quitting smoking;
- setting a specific quit date;
- identifying your smoking ‘triggers’;
- visualizing your quit-smoking goal;
- using a nicotine replacement product (e.g. patch, medication);
- obtaining support from others; And,
- preparing an emergency plan in the event you start smoking again
Course options
There are three pathways to follow in this course, depending on the stage of quitting you are at. Take any path (or all three) during your enrollment.
Path 1: I’m not certain that I’m ready to quit.
Decide whether or not you should quit smoking and build confidence
that you can.
Path 2: I’m ready to quit!
Create a comprehensive quit-smoking plan and prepare yourself for
your quit-smoking date.
Path 3: I’m ready to try to quit again!
Reaffirm your commitment, learn from past quitting attempts, and
try something new.
